Heifer International’s mission is “to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and to care for the earth.”
Mizzou for Heifer International is the MU chapter of a nationwide organization. Our goal is to promote sustainability through education and agriculture.
Our strategy:
- Provide struggling families with the gifts of training and livestock
- “Passing on the gift” – Each family that receives a gift must pass on
the training they received and offspring from their animal to another
impoverished family.
This approach has enabled millions of families to lift themselves from lives of poverty to lives of self-sufficiency.
Meetings are held every other Thursday at 6:00pm in Physics, room 102.
